Sean Bean Reckons His TV Son Richard Madden Is The Perfect James Bond And Same

"He’s got everything that’s required of the role."

Sean Bean, AKA Ned Stark, is a very proud TV dad and is making it known that he believes his Game of Thrones son Richard Madden, AKA Robb Stark, would be the perfect James Bond – and I totally agree.

Speaking with The Sun, Bean made a strong case for Madden to be hired as 007, saying, “He’s got everything that’s required of the role. He’s strong, he’s masculine and he’s also got a soft underbelly, he’s vulnerable, good looking — Scottish!

“I can’t see why he wouldn’t get the part. Everybody was great who came through Game Of Thrones. But I always sensed he was a very fine actor. He had gravity and that thing we talked about at drama school — presence. He had a lot of presence.”

And Bean should know, after all, he was the main villain in GoldenEye, Alec Trevelyan, who was, at one point, 006.

Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Aidan Turner and James Norton have all been linked to the role of Bond as well, but it seems Madden could be the front runner after his role as Sergeant David Budd in Bodyguard.

Speaking with GQ, Madden said he was ‘flattered to be mentioned’.

“This is what happens with all these shows, like Tom Hiddelston in The Night Manager. Then there’s the next one. I’m the next one.”

“I’m more than flattered to be mentioned, for people to consider putting me in that role. I’m very flattered and thankful. It’s a really brilliant thing to be in. I don’t want to curse anything by saying anything,” he added.

While he doesn’t want to jinx it, he did admit that he loves the movies and has read every single James Bond book.

Madden’s Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington also believes he’d kill it as Bond, telling the publication, “I don’t want to curse him. Any time anyone starts to get rumoured for Bond, it becomes a curse on them. And the reason I don’t want to do that is that I actually do think he would make a very good Bond.

“He’s got this natural charm. He’s proven with Bodyguard that he has that muscle for it. And wouldn’t it be nice to go back to a Scottish Bond?”

Madden also enjoys a cheeky vodka martini and drives a very Bond-esque silver F-Type Jaguar.

While I’m all for Madden as the next James Bond, he might be a little busy with his role as Ikaris in Marvel’s The Eternals, which could end up being a pretty big deal.

The movie also stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani and his former on-screen ‘brother’ Kit Harington.

The Eternals is set for release in November 2020.
