Grace Jones Quits James Bond Role Moments After Arriving On Set And Realising She Wasn't 007

“She was out of there quicker than it takes to rustle up a martini.”

It looks like Bond 25 has suffered yet another setback after Grace Jones dropped out of the movie at the last minute.

The 70-year-old star was set to appear in the film, 34 years after her role in A View To Kill with Roger Moore, but left abruptly when she realised how few lines she’d been given.

According to The Sun, a source said, “Grace’s 007 homecoming was meant to be a real crowd-pleasing moment. Bosses were really excited about landing her.

“Of course, she comes with a reputation, so they organised premium accommodation and rolled out the red carpet on set to make her feel welcome.

“But it turns out Grace was expecting to play a bigger role in the movie and took her brief cameo as a slight.

But seriously, did Jones expect she was going to play 007? Considering she’s already played a Bond Girl (who, SPOILER ALERT, died) she surely wouldn’t expect she’d come back at 70 with a major role.

Bond 25 has had a lot of setbacks with Danny Boyle leaving as the film’s director months after joining and then getting replaced by Cary Joji Fukunaga.

Then, production was suspended for two weeks after Daniel Craig injured his ankle on set and was then forced to undergo surgery.

This was followed by filming going into lockdown after a “controlled explosion” injured a crew member and damaged a set at Pinewood studios.

Despite everything, the movie is still set to be released on time in April 2020.
