Ever since it was announced that It: Chapter 2 will feature an all-star cast that includes Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader to portray the 2016 version of the Loser’s Club, we’re been hoping to see some sort of glimpse at the adult and kid casts together.
Folks, our wish has finally been fulfilled and it was better than anything we could’ve imagined.
The first bit of footage from It: Chapter 2 was revealed at the 2019 Cinemacon event and on-hand to unveil it to excited fans were the entire cast of the Loser’s Club, except for Jaeden Martell, who played young Bill in the first It.

We know what every actor looks like but seeing them side-by-side really makes it clear that It: Chapter 2 really nailed the casting. I mean, Bill Hader and Finn Wolfhard honestly look like the exact same person 26 years apart, and don’t even get me started on how perfect Jessica and Sophia Lillis are as Beverly Marsh.
While we’re unlikely to see any of the young and adult cast actually interacting in the film, the more than made up for it at Cinemacon with their banter (McAvoy joked that Jaeden was too famous to be there and got rid of him because he was “threatened” by his talent) and the copious amounts of fan-servicey photos of the whole cast together.
Really cool to see the entire cast of #ItChapter2 on stage (Jaeden’s too famous, James McAvoy joked.) I love this cast so much ? pic.twitter.com/LY6UneHVpk

As for the actual movie itself, reactions to the first bit of footage was very positive. While the much touted “bloodiest scene in movie history” wasn’t shown, the teaser trailer presented focused on Jessica’s Beverly returning to Deery, as well as quick looks at the rest of the cast, and of course, Pennywise.
And for those wondering if it will be as scary as the first It, rest assured because folks are claiming Chapter 2 will make you soil your pants.
First look at IT: CHAPTER TWO gives us an unnerving intro to adult Beverly, back in Deery and almost immediately into some chilling ish, followed by teaser-y looks at the adult Losers Club looking understandably freaked out. Pennywise ends it. Not bloody, but tense and creepy.

That all bodes well for a film that has the pressure of living up to one of the most critically and commercially successful horror films in recent memory. But regardless of whether the film is good or not (and all signs are pointing towards “it’s a bloody good time…literally”), any shortcomings to be found in It: Chapter 2 definitely won’t be at the fault of its cast.
