Apparently There's A Veronica Mars Reboot In The Works So Brace Yourselves, Marshmallows

Kristen Bell will reprise her role as Veronica, because it's really not Veronica Mars without her.

Variety has reported that a Veronica Mars revival is in the works at Hulu, with series creator Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell attached.

The unnamed sources cited by Variety caution that the deal hasn’t been finalised, but we’re going to go ahead and get excited anyway.

We don’t know who else would be starring in the reboot, and we don’t know what the plot of the new series would be, but for now, just knowing Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas are involved gives me hope that it will be worthwhile.

With the support of Hulu and the show’s original studio, Warner Bros, I’m hopeful that the revival will be more like the original show than the movie. Veronica’s detective work lends itself best to a television format, and with financial backing and creative freedom, this reboot could be just what the doctor ordered.

So who do I want to see return for the reboot? Logan, obviously – based on his IMDb page, Jason Dohring definitely not too busy to participate, and I was always #TeamLogan.

I’d love to see Keith return, because no matter how old she is, Veronica still needs her Dad’s wisdom and support. And since the movie ended with Mac working as Veronica’s assistant, Tina Majorino’s involvement in the reboot would make sense, too.

Variety’s report mentions Kristen’s packed schedule, which largely consists of filming for one of everyone’s favourite shows, The Good Place, as a potential complication; if the reboot goes ahead, filming will need to work around her other projects, meaning the series may end up being only eight or ten episodes long. It’s hard being the star of two much-beloved shows!

Fingers and toes crossed that the reboot gets the green light, because I am absolutely ready for more wholesome Keith Mars content.
