There was a period in time where interactions between fans and artists unusually involved some combination of excited chatter, autographs and a couple of photos. Well time to throw that notion into the bin because British rapper slowthai has taken the fan-artist interaction thing to the next level using his spit.
During a show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a fan held up a sign asking slowthai to, ahem, spit in her mouth because… oh who knows. After taking the sign from the fan, the rapper duly obliged by spitting a big ball of gob straight into her mouth.
Just a warning, the footage will make you squirm and is not for those with weak stomachs.
No one asked for this moment (well, except the fan in question) nor did anyone expect it to go viral but here we are.
Slowthai has built up a reputation for rocking a larger-than-life persona and going all in during live performances, and boy did he live up to expectations here.
As for what the fan thought about getting a dollop of spit from the rapper, she told Metro that it “was one of the best moments of [her] life, slowthai is a beautiful man” before wishing him “nothing but the best for him in his career.”
Well okay then, you do you!
Perhaps to no one’s surprise, this isn’t the first time that slowthai has spat in some obliging fan’s mouth. It was reported that another fan also requested the rapper to spit into her mouth via a homemade sign during a Detriot gig, and being the respectful artist he is, he duly complied.
You know what, keep your spit, Slowthai and every other musician out there. I’ll stick to autographs and selfies, thanks.
