Nosy True Crime Podcasters Are Trying To Retraumatise Laurie Strode In This Just-Released Scene From The Halloween Sequel

Leave Jamie Lee Curtis alone.

We are well and truly in the thick of the hype phase for the upcoming Halloween sequel, in which Jaimie Lee Curtis has graduated from damsel in distress to ruthless hunter and is now the middle-aged heroine we need to see on screen.

The trailer was all about the renewed drama between Laurie and her attacker, and now we can watch a full scene from the film that’s all about Laurie having to deal with pesky murder podcasters.

Laurie Strode, iconic ‘final girl’ from the 1978 original Halloween has been through A LOT. She had serial killer Michael Myers on her back and was lucky to make it out alive.

But of course it only makes sense that 40 years later, amidst our obsession with murder content, Laurie Strode now has two true crime podcasters in her face, trying to make her relive her trauma.

They are literally asking her to visit Myers so that they can get some good content! Get wrecked guys! But also I would tune in to that.

The two podcasters, played by Rhian Rees and Jefferson Hall, “are studying the crimes of 1978 to learn more about the mindset of a madman.” says director and co-writer David Gordon Green. “They accidentally stir up the hornet’s nest.”

“I thought it was very clever, very modern,” says Jamie Lee Curtis of the podcaster plot line. “These British documentarians add that global fascination with true crime that now is very much part of the zeitgeist of all of our lives, if you’ve listened to Serial or [watched] Making a Murderer, or any of them, and I thought that was very clever.”

So there you go. Looks like we get to see these podcasters mess up everything and Jaimie Lee Curtis clean up their mess when Halloween hits Australian cinemas on Thursday, October 25.
