Guy Sebastian Covers Iconic Simpsons Tune We Put The Spring In Springfield For Dan Cribbs’ Epic Tribute Album To The Show’s Best Bangers

It's the 25th song to make it on the pop-punk tribute album of classic Simpsons musical numbers, and my god it's an absolute jam.

For well over a year, Perth musician Dan Cribbs has been collaborating with an impressive line-up of Aussie artists to recreate all of your favourite tunes from The Simpsons with a pop-punk flavour. Cribbs’ majestic EP is titled Worst Tribute Ever and it’s the best tribute ever.

The latest addition features OG Australian Idol winner and ARIA Award-winning artist Guy Sebastian taking on one of the show’s absolute classic tracks, ‘We Put The Spring In Springfield’.

‘We Put The Spring In Springfield’ was originally performed by Homer and Bart and pretty much the whole town (except conservative spoil-sport Marge) in the fifth episode of the 1999 season ‘Bart After Dark’. It saved the town’s burlesque house and won The Simpsons an Emmy so it’s a pretty big deal and Guy Sebastian should feel damn honoured.

If you need to revisit the original song, which I think we all do, here you go:

This track is the 25th punk-pop Simpsons cover that Cribbs has released from the LP, with an all-star cast of guest vocalists lending their pipes to give the classic songs new life.

Between Alex Lahey’s rendition of the Flaming Moe’s jingle to Ecca Vandal singing ‘Happy Birthday Lisa’, and Ball Park Music’s Jen Boce covering ‘The Garbage Man’, the whole album is truly spectacular and is compulsory listening for all Simpsons fans.
