Boy, have we got a doozy for ya.
Gigi Hadid, sister to Bella, friend to Kendall Jenner and overall Beautiful Person Extraordinaire, is making headlines after shooting what is perhaps the most terrifying mag cover of all time to celebrate a 10-year-anniversary and 20th issue.
The publication in question, Love Magazine, uploaded the cover to Instagram – Gigi herself uploaded the far less nightmare-inducing alternate – with the headline “the golden hare in the golden hour” which, while poetic, does little explain WHY THE HECK THEY WANT TO GIVE US NIGHTMARES TONIGHT.
But enough caps lock, feast your eyes:
We understand – from copious Top Model binges – that a model must adapt to each and every shoot like a well-coiffed chameleon, but did we really need a female Donnie Darko?
No.
The answer is no.
While the magazine is getting an avalanche of fresh exposure, many social media users think the intentionally controversial cover misses the mark.
” I love my queen but this is a no no,” one commented as another said, “I’m calling PETA!”
“Hang on. Is this dog okay? Looks massively uncomfortable you bunch of horrible folk.”
Others just plain ol’ called it crap:
“This is a terrible cover.”
“Well… naaa.”
“This is honestly the worst cover ever”
“Worst cover in the world”
While obviously we’re a little, uh… ‘torn’ over this ~high fashun~ move, we’ll have to get back to you after tonight ’cause this one needs to go through the ‘will I sleep?’ test.
