Spoilers ahead for the Game of Thrones season eight final episode, ever.
The grand finale of Game of Thrones is not abundant in comedic moments, but there are a few gems in there.
With Sansa curtly telling her uncle to sit down and Tyrion’s revelation that he’s been left out of the written history of Westeros, the writers managed to squeeze in a few lighthearted moments amongst all the intensity.
But the one part of the episode that may genuinely make you laugh out loud, is when Jon Snow pats Ghost.

Yes! After all of the fan outrage over Jon Snow failing to give his loyal dire wolf the farewell he deserves in episode four, the finale has conveniently given us exactly what asked for.
Ghost the good boy got the pats!
So glad we finally got the Ghost+Jon scene we’ve been waiting for#GameofThronesFinale pic.twitter.com/zTcnRT32gb

While this scene was not intended to be funny, the fact that we were so outraged over the lack of pats previously allowed (apparently by the CGI budget), seeing the exact thing we so vehemently demanded just feels funny.
Do you think HBO did a quick reshoot and filmed Jon Snow petting Ghost because we were all really mad

It feels almost…too perfect. And while it’s literally impossible that this scene was added in the aftermath of the Ghost-patting outrage, it does feel like something they’ve slipped in there at the last moment.

At the end of the day, the fans are happy to see Ghost get the affection he deserves.
That was fantastic. Everything I wanted and more. Ghost will forever be a good boy and deserves all of the best pats and belly rubs that Jon can give him. Couldn’t tell you what happened in the rest of the episode because it’s not important. #GameOfThronesFinale pic.twitter.com/ndwyDxFNn9

And Ghost was happy.

That really is all that matters at the end of Game of Thrones.
