Jason Momoa may be one of the biggest stars in the world right now thanks to his delightful turn as Arthur Curry in Aquaman and Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, it wasn’t an easy journey getting to where he is now.
The superstar shared a throwback photo of himself living out of a van and revealed it was taken during a break while he was filming season one of Game of Thrones. You’d think that the cast would be living it up on that show but it turns out that he was just as poor as all the broke uni students who were watching/pirating the show at the time.

Writing in the caption, Jason revealed that he and his pal, Brian Andrew Mendoza, were so broke at the time that they couldn’t fly home so they decided to hire a van instead and drove around Ireland in search of shenanigans and the “greatest pint of Guinness.”
“While filming GOT we had a lil break We were to broke to fly home so we rented a panel van aka UHAUL in Belfast and drove around beautiful amazing IRELAND searching for the greatest pint of Guinness.”
But as history shows, things eventually fell into place for Jason after his impromptu Ireland odyssey as he quickly became a big star after Thrones became a big hit and it ultimately led to him being cast as Aquaman.
Putting it another way, when the internet loses its collective mind when you do something as trivial as shaving off a beard for a good cause that’s how you know you’ve made it.
