CAUTION: SPOILERS AHEAD. THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS REFERENCES FROM GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8, EPISODE 2
Arya Stark is not a girl, but not yet a woman in the episode two of the eighth season of Game Of Thrones. She lost her virginity.
In a series with -a LOT- of sex, it’s a real shock that it’s taken the writers this long to involve Arya in a lil hanky-panky.
But, it happened. And OF COURSE there’s an abundance of memes about it.
So Arya shacked up with Gendry – which was totally epic to watch unfold.
Before jumping on that Gendry D, Arya grills him for FILTH asking how many chicks he’s been with.
“One? Two? Twenty?” she pressed. *The internet’s collective brain cell twitched with excitement of new memes*
Twitter went wild with memes and it honestly could’ve been better than the episode. Theories swirled that Arya realised that she was a lesbian post-romp, that she was the overly-obsessed-girlfriend meme, that Gendry definitely shagged more than three people – and the list goes on.

But aside from the memes, people were widely receptive of what this meant for Arya’s growth as a character.
People commended her for taking control of her own sexual narrative as a young woman and it honestly couldn’t have been a better way of bringing Arya into adulthood.
Arya is 18, in full control and making a choice. She’s having probably the least weird, and most empowering consensual interaction in the whole show. Ever. EVER

Maisie Williams said that this was the scene that put Arya in touch with the humanity that she lacked, growing up laser focussed on survival.

This is a huge win for Game Of Thrones, and a huge win for the internet whose meme game has literally never been stronger.
