TMZ ran into Ja Rule at LAX, and in addition to asking him if he’s watched the Netflix and Hulu documentaries about Fyre Festival (he hasn’t, because he “lived it” and presumably doesn’t want to relive it), they got him to confess to having plans to create “the iconic music festival”.
The cameraman and Ja talk about Fyre’s lack of success, with Ja describing it as “the most iconic music festival that never was”. The cameraman says that if he were in Ja Rule’s shoes, he’d give Fyre Fest another shot, since it’s “almost the most famous festival” in the world, “more famous than Coachella”. I think Fyre Fest is proof that not all publicity is good publicity, but anyway…
Ja then drops the bombshell about his desire to give event planning another go, and promptly runs off, which is a very Ja Rule way of ending an interview, I think.
Ja also discussed his latest venture, an app called Iconn that is pretty similar to the Fyre app that allowed people to book celebrity talent for their events.
‘Iconn’ is apparently short for ‘Ice connect’ which I think is meant to suggest it’s the opposite of Fyre, because fire and ice… Maybe his goal is to work through all of the Pokémon types? I vote for electric next.
No it’s Iconn short for Ice connect see what I did there lol… https://t.co/bbTd8axouY

Despite his claims that he too was “hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray”, it’s unlikely that many influencers or artists will be rushing to get involved with Iconn’s Ice Fest, or whatever Ja decides to call it.
I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!

Sometimes it’s best to admit we might not be the best person for the job and move on. It’s clear we haven’t seen the last of Ja Rule though, which must be a relief for Dave Chappelle, if nothing else.
