The Theory About The New Character In Frozen 2 Is All The Hype This Movie Needs

Autumn is coming.

If you didn’t think that you were Frozen 2’s target audience, the first trailer confirms this is some high intensity action that we are most definitely going to get around.

Anna (Kristen Bell) is expertly handling a sword, Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) is leading a threatening pack of reindeer, Elsa (Idina Menzel) is trying to use her icy powers to take on the ocean, and Olaf the snowman (Josh Gadd) still hasn’t melted.

But the thing that has caught everyone’s attention is this mystery new character.

There are a lot of theories about the young red-headed girl in the autumnal landscape – the main one being that she has similar season-based powers to Elsa. If Elsa can harness the power of winter, then could there be others out there who can harness the power of Autumn? Spring? Summer?

The only thing about this theory is that it’s unclear if the mystery character is observing the supernatural gust of wind blowing the blonde boy into the air, or controlling it.

Said blonde kid appears to be hiding under a pile of leaves so it could be a game of hide and seek that we’re witnessing in which our awesome new red-headed character uses her Autumnal powers to win.

Another theory, that could actually coexist with the first, is that this could be Elsa’s girlfriend. There have been plenty of rumours about Disney making Elsa an out lesbian in the Frozen sequel, so it’s not off the table.

Although this character does look quite young and we’ll need more information to make up our mind on that theory.

As Evan Rachel Wood joins the voice cast for Frozen 2, the general consensus is that this is likely the new character she voices. So she doesn’t seem like any minor character.

The sequel is directed by Frozen alumni Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and it’s set to premiere on Boxing Day so we’ve got a while to wait.
