Since Miss Piggy came on the scene in her breakout role on The Muppet Show in 1976, she has been a strong and subversive character. She has taken the emphatic self-love and unapologetic femininity that she stands for and evolved into an icon that is genuinely empowering.
Plus she’s hilarious, and her brand of light-hearted empowerment is the perfect way to boost your mood.
Miss Piggy’s Twitter account (@MissPiggy) is the perfect source for fun daily reminders that you should love yourself as much as Miss Piggy loves Miss Piggy.

As a puppet that is literally a glamourous pig (or porcine, as she prefers to be called), Miss Piggy was conceived to be the joke. But she transcends that intention and refuses to be a punchline, and that in turn has become a powerful statement.
She is the bigger, bolder, ‘different’ woman who is confident, capable, and fabulous, and as a character she demands respect.
Miss Piggy is an inspiration for all women and people who society has tried to make smaller and quieter. She takes up space and isn’t about to apologise for it.
There's nothing more important than a grand entrance. Moi emerging from a clam-shell while dressed as a mermaid and flanked by seahorses was my entrance to brunch last weekend. pic.twitter.com/wWerHZJMMO

She pursues things with the enthusiastic belief that she truly deserves opportunities – a challenge a lot of women struggle with – and by the 2011 Muppets movie, Miss Piggy is the plus-sized editor of Vogue.
She has much wisdom to share, so listen up.
Moi's fans often wonder why I'm not nominated for more awards. 'Tis simple: if I were nominated, I'd be an absolute shoo-in to win and there would simply be no excitement! pic.twitter.com/I1i84SYDNM

Miss Piggy amplifies the message that things are better when women support women, which could have easily gone the other way considering her extreme love for the singular spotlight.
But her advice is genuinely great.
“Never compare yourself to another diva. Otherwise, how can you expect to be simply incomparable??”
Miss P is wise as hell.

Plus her dating advice is on point.
Ladies, when going on a first date, don't bring out your slideshow presentation about how fabulous you are. (Save that for the second date.)
