Kerri-Anne Kennerley Slut-Shamed A Journo On Live TV, Don’t Act Surprised

May never stop cringing.

Well, in hugely disappointing news this week, one Kerri-Anne Kennerley has found her name in headlines again after saying something offensive on live telly.

The 66-year-old television and radio presenter is currently feeling the wrath of the Internet after she thought it wise to comment on the outfit of another female journalist appearing on Studio 10.

Senior journalist for Channel Ten, Antoinette Lattouf, was discussing the connotations behind certain emojis and the term ‘thirsty’ with the Studio 10 panellists when the whole mess played out.

KAK started off by stressing they she doesn’t use emojis, and with a serious air of judgement, told the camera:

“I personally like to speak to people.”

Then, for reasons we really can’t comprehend, she chose to look down at Lattouf’s legs and ask:

“Did you forget your pants today?”

On. Live. Television.

The vibe of the conversation shifted very quickly, with Angela Bishop, Natarsha Belling, and Joe Hildebrand all recoiling uncomfortably right away.

“It’s a playsuit,” Lattouf responded.

KAK had a little giggle over this, then Bishop quickly stepped in saying, “And she looks unbelievable”.

You’d think old mate Kennerley would stop there, but no.

“And she’s going to be thirsty,” she added with a smile.

(Which doesn’t exactly make sense, but okay.)

Lattouf’s face really says everything we’re all feeling about this shameful, offensive exchange.

No thank you, Kerri-Anne.

Unsurprisingly, the segment was wrapped up quickly after that.

This is not the first time KAK has offended a large group of people while on live television, either.

Back in January, she was called out by Yumi Stynes for sounding racist when she criticised protesters of Australia Day.

As The Guardian shared at the time, Kennerley said:

“Has any single one of those 5,000 people waving the flags saying how inappropriate the day is, has any one of them been out to the outback where children, where babies and five-year-olds are being raped, their mothers are being raped, their sisters are being raped.”

To which Stynes responded with: “That is not even faintly true, Kerri-Anne, and you’re sounding quite racist now.”

Seemingly, not much has changed since then. Check out the video here, and cringe accordingly.

Presently, there haven’t been any statements released by Studio 10 or the presenters involved.
