Kate Moss And Marky Mark’s Calvin Klein Shoot Sounded Like A Nightmare

"I had a nervous breakdown."

Remember Kate Moss and Marky Mark’s iconic Calvin Klein ad from the 90s? You know – the one where the scantily-clad pair are cuddling in nothin’ but their jeans and CK knickers

Well, according to Moss, the shoot wasn’t as sexy and glamorous as it looks.

According to News.com.au, Moss felt pressured to shoot topless. Speaking to Megyn Kelly last year, the model said, “I worked with a woman photographer called Corrine Day and she always liked me with no top on and I did not like it at all when I first started.”

In 2017, Moss told Interview magazine’s Glen O’Brien that she was “nervous wreck” during the shoot. She also told O’Brien that Mark Wahlberg (known at the time as Marky Mark) was “such a dickhead.”

“He wasn’t very nice,” she added. In response, Wahlberg told Nuts magazine the shoot “was OK. I wasn’t into the waif thing.”

“She kind of looked like my nephew,” he said. “I mean she’s beautiful – she’s a very pretty nephew – but I’m more into curvy women.”

Even Calvin Klein himself was aware of the tension between Mark and Kate. In 2013, Interview mag that “Mark was trouble…He and Kate couldn’t stand each other.”

It wasn’t just the beef with Marky Mark that made Moss’s CK shoot a bad experience. The model admitted to Vanity Fair in 2012 that she had a “nervous breakdown” when she had to work with the actor.

“It didn’t feel like me at all,” she said. “I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die.”

“There’s massive pressure to do what you have to do,” she added.

As for the advice Kate Moss would give other young models who feel pressured to shoot nude, she said, “They don’t have to do it if they don’t want to do it.”

“I wouldn’t let my daughter do it – I look at her now and she’s 15, and to think that I was going topless at her age is crazy,” she said.

With over 30 years experience under her belt, Kate Moss has seen it all. Kudos to the supermodel for keeping it real.
