Chandler Bing Is Alive And Well In Matthew Perry’s Sassy Twitter Chat

Could he BE any more like Chandler?

Photos of Friends star Matthew Perry went viral this week after he was photographed in public for the first time in two years.

Some thought the star looked unrecognisable with many pointing out his long fingernails and stained T-shirt.

The Daily Mail reported that the actor’s hands appeared swollen and that his “long unkempt fingernails” hinted “that the actor is struggling with his health once again”.

The actor quickly took to Twitter in response to the articles and proved he’s still got a bit of Chandler Bing inside of him.

He wrote, “I’m getting a manicure this morning. That’s okay right? I mean it says man right in the word.”

Many fans responded by sending him the scene of Chandler and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) getting manicures on the show:

Many others replied with messages of support for the star:

Perry has previously battled alcohol and Vicodin addiction and sparked concern in February when he tweeted that he’d been kicked out of therapy. However, he quickly followed up saying, “I’m back in therapy where I belong.”

The actor was rushed to hospital last year with a ruptured bowel and spent three months recovering in hospital.

A representative said he had surgery in Los Angeles and was “grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals”.

During an interview on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show in the UK in 2016, he was asked what his least favourite episode of Friends was when he revealed he didn’t remember three years of his time on the show.

“Oh my goodness,” he said.

“I think the answer is I don’t remember three years of it, so none of those … A little bit of the time I was a little out of it … Anyway my answer to your question is somewhere between season three and six.”

He also opened up to People Magazine, saying while he was on the show he “couldn’t stop” drinking and taking pills.

“I was on Friends from age 24 to 34. I was in the white-hot flame of fame. The six of us were just everywhere all the time,” he said.

“From an outsider’s perspective, it would seem like I had it all. It was actually a very lonely time for me because I was suffering from alcoholism. It was going on before Friends, but it’s a progressive disease.”

Perry got sober in 2013 and has been dedicated to helping others suffering from addiction.
