Anti-Vaxxers And Scientologists Need To Denounce Andrew Nolch's Actions

Andrew Nolch claims he vandalised Eurydice Dixon's memorial as part of an attack on feminism.

Andrew Nolch, the man who vandalised Eurydice Dixon’s memorial in Melbourne’s Princes Park, has said that his actions were meant as an attack on feminism and mainstream media “for hijacking a vaccine-causing issue and turning it into a men are bad, women’s rights issue”, according to The Age

Evidently, Nolch decided that Eurydice’s murderer having Autism Spectrum Disorder is a result of vaccines, a common belief that has no basis in scientific reality.

In an interview with TEN Eyewitness News, Nolch’s brother said that Nolch himself has autism, and that he believes his own autism was caused by vaccines.

His brother also claimed that Nolch knew Eurydice through their mutual involvement in the Melbourne comedy scene, and his vandalism of her memorial could have been a personal tribute to her, somehow. Sure thing, buddy.

Nolch’s Facebook page is a trip. He used to host a TV show called The Kink on community television, and more recently, has hosted a podcast called The Indie Scientology Podcast. He also creates content for YouTube, including a series of ‘independent knowledge’ videos on Scientology, which he describes as a ‘special, secret, closed-door briefing’ on vital information about Scientology. So secret that it’s freely available to anyone with an internet connection!

Unless anti-vaxxers and Scientologists want to be associated with men who deface memorials for murdered women, they need to denounce Nolch as an extremist who does not reflect the majority of reasonable and sensible anti-vaxxers and Scientologists.

After all, Muslims are expected to publicly condemn the actions of every single non-white person who does something abhorrent in the name of a misguided interpretation of their beliefs – and surely even people who think having autism is worse than dying of a preventable, painful disease aren’t so far gone that they think painting a giant penis on a murder victim’s memorial site is OK.

Nolch was charged with criminal damage, offensive behaviour and marking offensive graffiti on Wednesday, and was released on bail. He’ll face court in August.

Until then, according to his brother, his parents have disowned him. Sad!
