Coldplay frontman Chris Martin took to Instagram Live this week to provide his followers with an impromptu live concert. Taking requests from his fans, Martin played acoustic renditions of his hit songs ‘Sky Full Of Stars,’ ‘Trouble,’ ‘Viva La Vida,’ ‘Green Eyes,’ ‘Yellow,’ and more.
Following on from Chris Martin, fellow singer John Legend also promised his fans a live-streamed concert via social media at some point today.
Keith Urban and wife Nicole Kidman also jumped on the bandwagon, providing Instagram followers with a concert from their warehouse after his show in Houston, Texas was cancelled. Urban kicked off the performance with ‘Somebody Like You,’ and “audience of one” Nicole Kidman danced, sang and clapped throughout the half-hour show.
Pink let her fans in on her piano lessons, performing a short rendition of Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’ via an Instagram video.
French singer songwriter Christine And The Queens took to Instagram to give fans an impromptu 360-degree performance from inside her studio. She started the 14-minute IG show with her current single ‘People I’ve Been Sad.’
Yungblud streamed an hour long performance and stage show alongside Machine Gun Kelly, Bella Thorne and Oliver Tree to his fans via YouTube.
Chris Martin and John Legend’s virtual concerts are part of Together, At Home an initiative organised by the World Health Organisation and Global Citizen aimed at promoting unity amid the COVID-19 pandemic’s social distancing protocols.
The Together, At Home live-streams couldn’t have come at a better time. As coronavirus continues to spread at an alarming rate, pubs, clubs and live music venues have begun to shut their doors.
