'To All The Boys' Star Lana Condor Was Seriously Close To Landing A Star Wars Role

"That’s an example of one door closes and another opens."

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star Lana Condor has revealed she was very close to starring in Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi as Rose Tico before she even won her iconic role as Lara Jean Covey in the Netflix movie series.

Condor got so far into the process that she even had a screen test with John Boyega, who plays Finn in the movies, to see what their chemistry would be like.

Speaking with StyleCaster, the actress said, “This was before The Force Awakens came out, and they were already reading for the sequel. He was eating Sugarfish, and I had a meeting to just get to know him.

“I remember looking at him and being like, ‘He has no idea what’s about to happen to his life. He is going to be the lead in Star Wars. That is so cool.’ And then he blew up overnight.”

Finn and Rose spend much of The Last Jedi together so it would have been very important to know that the actors would have good chemistry on screen.

The role eventually went to Kelly Marie Tran, but Condor says she is quite positive about the whole thing, saying, “Had I done Star Wars, I wouldn’t have been able to do To All the Boys, so that’s an example of one door closes and another opens.”

Sadly, however, Tran received so much hate online for her role as Rose Tico she was forced to quit social media and enter therapy.

Following this backlash, the character only received one minute and 16 seconds of screen time in The Rise of Skywalker. While many fans were upset about the fact she didn’t appear in the film for long enough, Tran said to MTV’s Josh Horowitz she was “really grateful” to be part of the franchise.

“Last Jedi was my first movie, you know? So I think I’m finally starting to realize that when you’re in something of that calibre, there’s so many people working to make something out of love. And no matter what you do, there’s always going to be people that aren’t happy with that.

“But I think the best lesson that I’ve learned is just to have fun and be present in the moment. So I’m really grateful that I got to be a part of it,” she explained on the Oscars red carpet.

A very classy response!

We Finally Know What Jim's Teapot Message To Pam Said On 'The Office'

"I’m on-camera, and I open up this note that John’s written to me, and I just start crying."

The Office’s Jim and Pam are one of the best TV couples ever written and actress Jenna Fischer has finally revealed what actually happened in one particularly heartfelt scene between herself and John Krasinski.

Fans of the show will remember in Season 2 of the show, during the “Christmas Party” episode, Jim had a note for Pam in the teapot he gave her as her secret Santa gift. However, at the final moment, he put it in his pocket so she didn’t read it.

But, in the penultimate episode of The Office, Jim finally gives Pam the note after giving her a video montage of their relationship.

It’s clear that the note is an emotional one, but we never found out what was actually written in it at the time.

Now, Fischer has revealed on her Office Ladies podcast with fellow Office co-star Angela Kinsey what was written in the note.

She revealed that the note was actually written from Krasinski to herself – similar to her goodbye with Steve Carell on the show which we couldn’t hear as he’d removed his microphones for the scene.

“I’m the only one who knows, and John [Krasinski] knows. In that episode in Season 9, I believe Greg [Daniels] suggested to John that he write a personal message from himself to me.

“Just saying what our time together on The Office meant to him. Because we were wrapping up filming. We were wrapping up the series. We were all so emotional at that time, you know. And so that was his goodbye,” she said.

In the episode, Pam found out about the note after expressing her fears to Jim that she wasn’t enough for him. After reading the note, Pam is at ease about her relationship.

Fischer revealed that the note was “perfect”, saying, “So, I’m on-camera, and I open up this note that John’s written to me, and I just start crying. I just start bawling.

“The first take was probably not usable. It was the sweetest note, and you know, on-camera Pam says, ‘I’ll never say what it said. But just know it was perfect.’ Well, I’ll never say exactly what John wrote, but I will say, just know it was perfect. So that was what was in the teapot note guys. It was a note from John to me.”

Now I’m crying just thinking of how cute these two are!
