If you’ve hopped on Twitter today you’ll see that Hollywood sweetheart Tom Holland is currently trending.
And it’s because you can now have him in animated form on your screen. Sony has revealed that Spider-Man Remastered will have one major change from the original: the character model for Peter Parker. He literally looks like a store bought version of Tom Holland and Twitter is going nuts over it.
The Verge reports that Insomniac Games made the change because the new face model, Ben Jordan, is a “better match” for Peter Parker/Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture.
Coincidence?
Holland is very loved these days with his witty remarks and charming accent, he’s won over studio heads and hearts all around the world. We wouldn’t be surprised if someone in a tall-back swivel chair asked for a change in order to sell some more games.

If we getting Tom Holland as Peter Parker in Spider-Man for PS5 than we need Zendaya as Mary Jane. pic.twitter.com/c23M89o3nZ

But Lowenthal insists it’s his “face’s fault” for the change with Insomniac Games writing a extensive blog post revealing the reason for the change:
Guys. It’s my face’s fault. The stupid stupid bones in my face. Blame my bones. https://t.co/VUES1jQLC5

On Wednesday afternoon, Bryan Intihar, Creative Director at Insomniac, shared more about the decision to change Peter Parker’s look:

Looks like everyone is trying a bit too hard to convince us of the “actual” reason. Spider-Man Remastered is included with the $69.99 Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, and will launch on November 12 alongside the PS5.
