The New PlayStation 5 Breakdown Has Fans Confused As Hell

PlaySta-shun.

PlayStation has millions of hardcore fans around the world. So, when Mark Cerny, the lead system architect for PS5, launched a live-stream revealing the technical aspects of Sony’s latest console, fans were left confused, to say the least. As a result, PlayStation fans are ranting on Twitter and it’s making for some super hilarious content.

PlayStation fans right now.

The console is set to drop at the end of this year, in time for the Christmas craze. Sony has said that despite the number of event cancellations and pushbacks happening around the world, this release should not be affected by Coronavirus concerns.

To learn more about other events that were cancelled because of COVID-19 concerns, make sure you check out this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For…

The presentation went for nearly an hour, as Mark Cerny discussed the PS5’s system architecture. The new console will have 8x Zen 2 Cores at 3.5GHz, 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (custom-made by AMD) 16GB GDDR6/256-bit and Custom 825GB SSD.

Don’t understand any of that? Don’t worry, neither did the internet.

Some Twitter users were optimistic about learning, however.

Some were confused with all the hate, considering PlayStation clearly outlined that this presentation was going to be a technical one focusing on the architecture of the console.

Fans were also upset at the lack of backwards compatibility with any consoles before the PS4. Say Goodbye to any chance you could whip out your old Singstar, Guitar Hero or Buzz: The Ultimate Quiz games, I guess.

Also, as a result of this confusing presentation, fans expressed their support for Microsoft’s ‘X-Box Series X’.

We were first exposed to details on the new PlayStation console when it came out in October last year, with bits and pieces of information on the system’s hardware and controller.

In February, Sony created the console’s website. However, we haven’t gotten any new information since the site went up. Are you excited for the new console?
