The Internet Is Ripping Into Liam Payne For Grossly Fetishising People's Sexuality

Turns out you can't have it "Both Ways", Liam.

After a long build-up that involved a lot of people asking “does this mean One Direction are getting back together,” Liam Payne has dropped his much-hyped solo album, LP1. And folks, it’s, uh, not great ay.

Early reviews haven’t been exactly too flattering and the 42 reviewers score and 3.6 (out of 10) user score on Metacritic doesn’t exactly scream confidence in Liam Payne’s solo offering.

Speaking of One Direction members…

But the reviews is perhaps the least of Liam’s worries about his album at the moment because one of its songs, titled ‘Both Ways’ is copping major backlash from the LGBTQIA+ community.

The song in question alludes to having a threesome with a bisexual woman and includes lines such as, “Flipping that body, go head, I go tails / Sharing that body like it’s our last meal.”

This hasn’t gone down well with the LGBTQIA+ community as many are accusing Liam Payne of fetishing people’s sexuality and rendering bisexual people as nothing more than a straight white guy sex fantasy.

As for what Liam has had to say about the response to “Both Ways” and his album in general, well he’s done nothing but tweet out messages of thanks to people for supporting his album and other little promo posts.

While Liam hasn’t directly responded to the backlash, we can probably assume he’s frantically putting together a statement on Notes right now as we speak.

Maybe Liam should’ve taken a leaf out of his old One Direction bandmate Harry Styles’ handbook when it comes to handling LGBTQIA+ matters in a respectful manner. Or he could’ve just leaked a bunch of tasteful nudes instead.
