Self isolation is a really good time to catch up on all those shows you’d been meaning to watch, but we’re a couple of weeks in now, so there’s a good chance you’ve gotten through your list. If you’re feeling like streaming something with a bit more history, or are just trying to remember what life was like when people could still go outside, then we have you covered.

The Crown (Netflix)

Starting with her wedding in 1947, The Crown follows the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her early years and will end in the early 21st century. If you’ve had even a passing interest in the drama that is Harry and Meghan’s exist from Royal life, then this will be right up your alley.

The Spanish Princess (Stan)

The Spanish Princess is a sequel to the miniseries The White Queen and The White Princess. It follows a young Catherine of Aragon, who became Queen of England as the first wife of King Henry VIII. 

Vikings (Amazon Prime)

Ragnar Lothbrok is one of the best-known Norse heroes. A warrior and farmer who hopes to explore – and raid – distant shores, the series follows his (often brutal) journey.

The English Game (Netflix)

One for everybody who has been hurt by the Premier League postponing their season, or misses watching sports in general. The English Game is a six part series, all about the origins of modern soccer in England.

True History Of The Kelly Gang (Stan)

In colonial Australia, Ned Kelly discovers that he comes from a line of Irish rebels called the Sons of Sieve. After the unfair arrest of his mother, Ned Kelly recruits his gang and begins to plot revenge.

Waco (Amazon Prime)

This series is about the 1993 standoff between the FBI and the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas. In an event where nobody will ever really be able to say what happened, the series doesn’t take sides or place blame on one sole person.
