What a year for Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson. Miley divorced Liam Hemsworth, broke up with Kaitlynn Carter, and released several massive hits. Cody won The Masked Singer, got with Miley, and… I’m not too sure what else tbh. It’s about to get really interesting in 2020 though, because Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson look set to be starting a band.
Miley’s people have filed legal documents to give them ownership of the name Bandit & Bardot.
Forgetting what we know about Miley and Cody for a second, what genre did you first think of when you read that? Cause my first thought was that this was either going to be:
- Some sort of indie group that required Cody to grow his hair out and a matching beard.
- Edgy music I would have loved during the time in my life that I exclusively wore Converse and too much eyeliner.
I’m leaning towards the second option now, because an Instagram account called banditandbardot has appeared. Suss the skull pic.
And if you were in any doubt at all that these two things were connected, the only two people the page followed for a while there was… Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson. They realised pretty quickly that that was too obvious, and now the account isn’t following anyone, but screenshots last forever.
It makes sense that they play music together, and we’ve already seen them doing that.
Apparently Cody wrote Miley a song when she got tonsil surgery. They’ve played together at charity events (along with Billy Ray), and frankly, I assume that’s what muso couples just do anyway. It didn’t mean we needed an official project that is giving me 2011 scene vibes.
Do we need a Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson band when they’ve been dating for about three months, tops? No. Are we going to get it anyway? Looks like yes.
