When the first of December comes around, it’s like the world becomes a different place. Suddenly houses become more dressed up, families are preparing three-course dinners and people are generally a lot kinder. The mood is different and there’s one thing that marks this change; Christmas songs.
Anyone who’s anyone has a Christmas song (if not an album). In December it’s all that we listen to, whether we like it or not. It kicks everyone into gear as we enter the holiday period in the correct spirit. Which brings me to my point, why aren’t there any Valentine’s Day music?
If Christmas music dominates the holiday season, surely it would be the same for Valentines Day. Given the immense success of Mariah Carey’s infectious tune, it seems like a no-brainer that artists would want to pump out a Valentines Day album.

Just think about it, people would be inclined to stream that album every year, or anytime they feel romantic. Which, if you ask me, seems like a positive mode of thinking. Who doesn’t want to be associated with love and positivity?
Randomly, Christmas seems to be the holiday that pop musicians make music for. While some people make horror-inspired songs, there aren’t too many artists that release Halloween-themed albums. There’s a few, but definitely not many.
And sure there are love songs, but why don’t we have a Valentines Day album from Michael Bublé singing us to pure, romantic bliss. That’s all I want for this Valentines’ Day. Please, Mr Bublé, make it happen!
