Prepare To Feel Very Seen From Anna Kendrick’s New Rom-Com

Stan's new series hits a little too close to home.

We love Anna Kendrick for many reasons. She’s funny, she has an incredible voice and she is shockingly relatable. Stan’s latest tv series, Love Life, takes this last fact and tests us with it.

If you’ve already streamed every, single show in existence in your COVID-19 isolation free time, then have no fear, we have the show for you!

This 10-episode romantic comedy follows Anna Kendrick’s character, Darby, as she tries to find the one, racking up all these crazy experiences along the way. Throughout the episodes, we’ll follow Darby love-life journey as all the partners that come and go ultimately shape the woman she becomes.

The show also stars Zoë Chao as Sara, Sasha Compère as Mallory, Peter Vack as Jim and Scoot McNairy as Bradley. You can watch the trailer for Love Life, which hits Stan on May 27, here:

The series, created by Sam Boyd (writer of In a Relationship), is designed to be an anthology. In this way, it will be structured similarly to Fargo and True Detective, but with more of a romance plot as opposed to crime.

But, the all-star crew doesn’t stop here. Love Life is being executive produced by Paul Feig (the director of Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters and Spy), so you know this tv series is in excellent hands. Not to mention, the co-showrunner is Bridget Bedard who worked on the critically acclaimed Transparent.

Love Life is the first show from the upcoming American streaming service HBO Max to hit Australia. Given it’s found a home on Stan, it remains unclear if HBO Max will actually come in Australia at a later date or at all. It was recently reported that HBO Max paid an obscene amount of money to secure the rights to stream Friends in the States, which is also currently available to stream on Stan in Australia.

Speaking of Friends, we spoke about Jennifer Anniston on this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For…

Love Life is one of the six HBO Max originals that are launching when the streaming platform debuts in the States on May 27. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Stan plans to secure the local rights for Made for Love and Station Eleven. However, it should be noted that Stan does not have a deal with HBO for HBO Max content, but appears to be acquiring some shows through individual licensing deals.
