Matthew McConaughey And Hugh Grant Are Desperate To Be Real Life Step Bros

It'll be "red hot."

Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant are an iconic Hollywood duo, and one day they might even be brothers – if their side hustle as professional matchmakers works out.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, McConaughey revealed that his 88-year-old mother, Kay McConaughey and Grant’s 91-year-old father, James Grant have agreed to go on a date.

“Hi father’s 91, my mother’s 88,” McConaughey said. “Yeah, why not? Next week, they’re supposed to meet, and we probably won’t see them for the rest of the night.”

Grant added that their date will probably be “red hot.”

McConaughey’s father Jim passed away in 1992 and Grant’s mother Finvola died in 2001. Clearly, their sons think it’s time for the widows to meet and possibly find love.

The best part is – if McConaughey and Grant’s parents tie the knot they’d become step brothers, and I don’t know if the world is ready for that kind of big family energy.

The reasons McConaughey and Grant have become so chummy may have something to do with their roles in The Gentleman which follows American expat Mickey Pearson, played by Matthew McConaughey, who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London.

When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him.

The film hits cinemas this week but has already racked up an impressive 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. It sounds like these two actors had some pretty undeniable on-screen chemistry, but according to Grant – they never actually met on set.

“We only met a few minutes ago,” Grant joked in an exclusive preview of the film. “We don’t actually have any scenes together in the movie.”

“We do talk about each other in the movie a lot, as you can see,” McConaughey added.

For two people who barely appear on-screen together, Grant and McConaughey have the bromance of our dreams. Here’s hoping they actually become brothers IRL.
