Lewis Capaldi Wants A Little Cash For His Ex Going On Love Island UK

"That would have been a nice heads up."

He’s the Scottish charmer behind that song we’ll never get out of our heads and now he’s the source of some serious Love Island UK drama. ‘Somebody You Loved’ singer Lewis Capaldi has finally addressed the fact that his ex-girlfriend Paige Turley is on the current season of Love Island UK, and his response was nothing short of epic.

Speaking to The Edge, Capaldi said, “She never told me she was going on it, that would have been a nice heads up, but fair play, good luck to her.”

As for his relationship with Turley, the singer said, “I’ve known her for years, we were 18 when we first met, 19 when we first started going out and 20 when finished going out.”

Apparently, the pair met at music college in Motherwell, Scotland and have a year long relationship before parting ways on good terms.

However, it has been reported that Turley cheated on Capaldi with his musician friend Garry Greig. “Paige pretends to be a nice girl but within months of dating Lewis, she was cheating with Garry, one of his best friends,” a source told The Sun.

If the tabloid goss is true, it sounds like the breakup of our nightmares. However, for Capaldi, the experience is nothing to be sad about.

His hit ‘Somebody You Loved’ is said to be about Turley, which after being released in 2018 reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and stayed there for seven consecutive weeks!

He’s also got a pretty good attitude about the whole thing, telling The Edge, “the prize is like £50,000 and I’ll be like ‘Well, listen. They asked you to go on it right I’m not saying I’m the reason but also…slide me two grand.”

Sounds like it ain’t no thang to Capaldi. We truly look forward to watching his Love Island reaction videos on social media.
