Lewis Capaldi's Ex Who Won 'Love Island' Is Now Coming For His Music Career

It's someone he loved.

It’d be bad enough having to watch your ex making up and breaking up with a bunch of babes on a reality TV show, but imagine if they won that show and then came for your music career? It’s a struggle singer Lewis Capaldi has sadly become all too familiar with after the most recent season of Love Island UK.

Paige Turley, who won the latest season of Love Island UK alongside fellow islander Finley Tapp, dated Lewis Capaldi between 2014 and 2016.

During her time in the Love Island villa, Turley wasn’t shy about mentioning her famous ex and even claimed ‘Someone You Loved’ was written about her.

Hear about why Lewis Capaldi is so god damn loveable below:

When Capaldi was asked about his ex being on the show, he took the whole thing in his stride. Speaking to The Edge, Capaldi said, “She never told me she was going on it, that would have been a nice heads up, but fair play, good luck to her.”

He did, however, clear up the real meaning behind ‘Someone You Loved’ during his acceptance speech at the Brit Awards. “[The song] is actually about my grandma,” he said. “I hope Love Island doesn’t contact her to be on the show… Thanks to my grandma for… dying? I’m sorry!”

Fast-forward to the finale of Love Island UK, Land it sounds like Turley is quite keen to win some music awards of her own. In an interview with the Daily Star, she said,  “I have a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline and singing absolutely still remains a passion of mine, watch this space.

“It’s been a total whirlwind since Love Island. I haven’t really had any time to shop as I’ve been so manic with work, but I am loving every minute of it.”

It’s not the first time Paige Turley has tried her hand at music, either. In 2012, she actually made it to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

While Lewis Capaldi insists that his ex has “every right” to talk about him, as he’s made money off songs about her, will he care when they’re rivalling in the charts? Or perhaps it’s all water under the bridge and we can expect a collab from these two in the near future. Watch this space.
