If Eminem Collabs With Rihanna, Will He Re-Address Those Violent 2011 Lyrics About Her?

He once took Chris Brown's side.

Eminem has been giving us a lot of collaborations recently, but no rumour is more shocking than the one that involves Rihanna.

We spoke about women in the music industry on this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For…

Since the start of the year, Eminem has been giving his fans a lot of collaborations with his projects. He dropped an album called Music To Be Murdered By which featured guest appearances from the late Juice WRLD, Don Toliver, Young M.A and Anderson .Paak. And most recently, he’s dropped a new song with Kid Cudi called ‘The Adventures Of Moon Man And Slim Shady’.

But, it would appear that more collaborations are still coming as the firm that handles Eminem’s marketing has just teased a new project that involves Rihanna. On their Instagram story, the Burn It Down Group recently shared a photo of Eminem’s trademark backward “E” logo intertwined with Rihanna’s “R” logo from the Rated R era. Additionally, Eminem’s label added two wide-eye emojis. Check out the story here.

Now, we know what you’re thinking, this collaboration between Eminem and Rihanna does make sense in that these two have collaborated before. We all know the 2010 smash hit ‘Love The Way You Lie’ and its sequel ‘Love The Way You Lie (Part II)’ but these two have also collaborated on ‘Numb’ (which is featured on Rihanna’s album Unapologetic) and ‘The Monster’ (which is featured on Eminem’s album The Marshall Mathers LP 2).

Also, these two have toured together in 2014 with The Monster Tour ending up being one of the highest-grossing tours of that year. So, we know they can work together, but can they work together after Eminem’s violent lyrics against her got leaked?

Last year, a demo from Eminem leaked which featured lyrics of the rapper siding with Chris Brown on the topic of their infamous domestic assault case. The song called ‘Things Get Worse’ had lyrics from Eminem that said, “I’m not playing, Rihanna, where’d you get the VD at?… Let me add my two cents/ Of course I side with Chris Brown/ I’d beat a bi**h down too/ If she gave my di*k an itch now.”

Since the leak, a spokesperson for Eminem, Dennis Dennehy, told Billboard, “This is a leak of something that’s over 10 years old… After Eminem recorded it, he scrapped it, and rewrote it. Obviously he and Rihanna have a great relationship.”

Hmm, this collaboration seems a little awkward now, no?
