Everything You Need To Know About The ‘American Horror Story’ Spin-Off

Ryan’s got a new baby in the Coven.

Hollywood may be the show on everyone’s lips at the moment, but creator Ryan Murphy has just taken to social media to announce a new American Horror Story spin-off series.

We actually spoke about ‘Hollywood’ on this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For…

If you’ve already binge-watched Hollywood, Scream Queens and the existing American Horror Story seasons, and are waiting for more Ryan Murphy campness, we’ve got some good news for you. American Horror Story is coming back and it’s going to be bigger than ever. Why? Oh well, no biggie, there’s just going to be a companion series to go with it.

On Instagram, Ryan Murphy uploaded a screenshot of a Zoom meeting with the majority of the American Horror Story cast. This included Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Denis O’Hare, Emma Roberts, Angelica Ross, Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga, Adina Porter, Billie Lourd, Wes Bentley, Leslie Grossman, Finn Wittrock, and Cody Fern. So basically, the essentials.

Captioning the photo, the creator behind the Golden Globe-winning series said, “American Horror Story cast zoom call…where we reminisced about the good times…the spin-off we’re doing called American Horror Stories (one hour contained episodes)…when we will start filming the next season of the mothership…and other stuff I cannot print. It was so much fun and I’m glad we caught up. I miss everyone!” Check out the Instagram post here:

Yep, American Horror Stories (a companion series) is set to hit our screens at a TBA date, but we can’t wait. While some Instagram commenters wondered if Murphy was joking with this screenshot (because the image was taken from an American Horror Story fan account), the news has been confirmed by Deadline, so you best believe it’s real. Plus, Ryan loves to make announcements via Instagram so we’ll allow the spelling mistakes this time.

According to Deadline’s sources, American Horror Stories will feature one hour contained episodes with “each episode… a standalone ghost story.” So, make of that what you will.

Sadly, the fate of American Horror Story Season 10 is still up in the air as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, so we’ll have to wait to see what happens next. Now, we don’t like to sound greedy, but if Ryan Murphy could cast Ariana Grande in Season 10 that’d be ideal.
