It’s been a big week for Lizzo. First, she was named TIME’s Entertainer Of The Year, then she made headlines for twerking courtside at a basketball game in nothing but a t-shirt and thong, and then she sipped from a very teensy tiny coffee cup.
Yesterday, Lizzo appeared on CBS This Morning where she addressed the criticism she faced after baring her butt at the Lakers game last weekend. “I stay in my own positive bubble,” she said. “It’s their opinion, so I mean, it’s not for me to really ingest. It’s for them to express and for me to choose to listen or not.”
When CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King asked Lizzo “did you forget your butt was out?” she explained that she actually had “layers down there” so it wasn’t “flesh to seat.”
“You know how long it’s took me to fall in love with this body? My butt was my least favourite thing about myself, and I learned to love it. And that was the thing everybody can’t stop talking about.”
Lizzo made some awe-inspiring points during her interview on CBS This Morning and it only got better when the hosts presented her with a TINY coffee cup. “We thought you needed a little cup to go along with your little purse,” co-host Anthony Mason said, referring to the truly iconic miniature handbag Lizzo wore to the American Music Awards last month.
Lizzo was, of course, delighted by the tiny cup and even joked, “there’s eight ounces of coffee in here, how’d you do that?”
It didn’t take long for Lizzo’s Twitter fans to swarm social media with hilarious comments about the fun-sized coffee mug and honestly, I’m waiting in anticipation for the many memes to come out of this moment.
