BTS Will Teach You Korean So You Can Watch 'Parasite' Without Subtitles

Come be my teacher.

Parasite has absolutely dominated the 2020 Oscars, and rightly so. It’s an amazing film, and all I want in life is to grab a drink with Bong Joon-ho, cause he seems hilarious. If you want to give the film a squiz without the subtitles, then BTS is coming to teach you Korean.

Yep, the Bangtan Boys are to the rescue. Their agents, Big Hit Entertainment, held a conference where they announced a number of upcoming projects. Fellow K-Pop stars SEVENTEEN are set to get a new Weverse, and the label will be launching two new boy bands and a girl group over the next two years.

Same.

But the announcement that got people’s attention was the debut of a tool called ‘Learn Korean With BTS’ which is aimed at fans of BTS who don’t already speak the language. There was a teaser shows which included segments of the show ‘Run BTS’ as well as speeches and live vlogs from the band being used as teaching material.

Speaking at the conference, the founder of Big Hit Entertainment, Bang Si-Hyuk, said that:

“We are preparing Korean language education content for our fans. There are many fans who can’t enjoy Big Hit content to the fullest due to the language barrier. Foreign media point out that there is ‘more demand for learning Korean thanks to K-pop,’ but there are only limited ways our fans could learn Korean with ease.”

Obviously the news was met with heaps of excitement, and although ‘Learn Korean With BTS’ isn’t available just yet, I’m sure we’ll know exactly when it is.

We’ll be able to tell by the collective high-pitched screeching of every ARMY member who needs BTS to teach them Korean, and the download speeds slowing right down as everyone tried to get their hands on it at once.
