Remember 2004’s Nipplegate? It was the unforgettable moment when Justin Timberlake exposed Janet Jackson’s breast during their 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The incident was written off as a “wardrobe malfunction,” and not only stirred up a lot of controversy but seriously impacted Janet Jackson’s career.
Following Nipplegate, Jackson was banned from performing at the 2004 Grammys and even had her music blacklisted from certain radio stations. On the other hand, Timberlake suffered little repercussions.
It’s something that’s been bothering fans for a good 15 years, including actress and singer Bette Midler, who is now demanding JT apologises to Jackson’s boob.
In a recent tweet, Midler wrote, “#JustinTimberlake publicly apologised to his wife for holding hands with another actress after having too much to drink, but [says] nothing else happened. Who cares?”
“He held another woman’s hand, BFD. So, when is Janet Jackson’s boob gonna get an apology? #JusticeForJanet.”
Midler is, of course, referencing the controversy surrounding Timberlake after he was caught holding hands with his co-star Alisha Wainwright a few weeks ago.
Last week, JT posted an apology to Instagram which read: “A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment – but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my costar,” he continued. “I drank way too much that night and regret my behaviour. I should have known better.”

“This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologise to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it.”
Timberlake’s apology was met with mixed opinions. Some fans thought it was inappropriate for him to blame his actions on alcohol, others suggested he should have directed the apology to his wife and not the rest of the world, while some called him out for using the apology to promote his upcoming film.
There’s one thing we do know about the Justin Timberlake cheating allegations and it’s that Bette Midler DGAF – she just wants justice for Janet Jackson’s boob.
