From the perspective of us mere mortals, award shows are all about glitz, glamour, gowns and celebrities we’ll never get to meet in real life. But the grass is always greener on the other side.
Award show veteran Chrissy Teigen recently took to Twitter to spill the tea on what they’re really like and we do not stan.
When Twitter user @emotional_mess asked her “how boring are award shows?” she responded, “unbelievably boring and you are pulled in 100 different directions and yelled at to sit down. The bar is never close to you and everyone is so mean to seat fillers, I dunno why anyone wants to do it.”
Teigen’s not wrong – apparently working as a seat filler isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. In response to her tweet, Teigen’s fans shared their filler stories.
“THEY ARE MEAN TO SEAT FILLERS. THEY ARE,” one user wrote. “The person who has been nicest to me as a seat filler was Anthony Bourdain lol.”
“I was a seat filler at Oscars 2001. It sucks,” another added. “I figured out where the celeb bar was and just walked in like I knew what I was doing. Nobody paid me any mind and I got to meet a bunch of celebs who thought it was hilarious that I snuck in.”
It’s not the first time Chrissy Teigen has had us howl with laughter via her social media platform. In 2014, she tweeted, “I always have a note in my pocket that says “john did it” just in case I’m murdered because I don’t want him to remarry,” and “a good rule of thumb is to never play “fuck/marry/kill” between other couples you are currently sitting with.”
Just over night she drunkenly made out with husband John Legend in Kris Jenner’s walk-in wardrobe.
