Apple Just Spoofed The World With Its Expected iPhone 12 Reveal

Over at Apple’s headquarters in California, the tech giant has revealed updates to the  iPad Air and Watch but said diddly squat about the upcoming iPhone 12.

Consumers tuned into the hour-long infomercial detailing the companies changes but the lack of information given about iPhone 12 isn’t totally surprising.

CNN reports Apple warned during its last earnings call that disruptions to its supply chain from the coronavirus pandemic could delay the latest iPhone.

“Last year, we started selling iPhones in late September,” the company’s chief financial officer, Luca Maestri, said on the call in late July. “This year, we project supply to be available a few weeks later.”

Die-hard Apple fans sat through the event hoping to see a glimpse of the new iPhone but instead they’ve had to scroll through countless Apple Event memes on Twitter poking fun at the lack of information:

As for the Apple Watch update, you will no longer be receiving an adapter which is a change designed to help manufacturing partners transition to renewable energy.

“This year we are removing the USB adaptor from Apple Watch,” Apple vice-president of environment, policy and social initiatives, Lisa Jackson said.

“We know that customers have been accumulating USB power adaptors and that producing millions of unneeded adaptors consumes resources and adds to our carbon footprint.”

Jackson says the move is an environmental policy that will be the equivalent of taking 50,000 cars off the road.

There will also be a new blue option and a red Watch to raise money for AIDS, a new sleep app, an automatic hand washing detection and the ability to detect blood oxygen values.

The “most popular iPad” has been given a power upgrade and has received a price drop.

The iPad Air has also received the predicted update with a new screen display. The iPad itself remains the same but now has a 10.9 inch screen which has come thanks to the removal of the Home button.

The Air 4 will debut the new A14 chip for the first time increasing power efficiency and performance.
