The Kardashians may be one of the most famous families in the history of TV entertainment, but that doesn’t come without its controversies. For this list, we’re looking at all the times a member of the Kardashian family cameoed in a piece of entertainment and then were subsequently met with backlash by the greater public.

Kylie Jenner in ‘WAP’

‘WAP’ may have broken the Internet, but it seems that it was for all the wrong reasons. When Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion dropped ‘WAP’ they skyrocketed to the top of YouTube, Twitter and pretty much every social media platform. The Internet was ecstatic to see some familiar faces like Normani, Mulatto and Rosalia and but they weren’t so happy to see Kylie Jenner. 

Kylie received a bunch of criticism online for all the recent negative things she’s done, such as going out clubbing during the George Floyd protests and blatantly ignoring social distancing rules. Additionally, Internet users didn’t hold back when it came to dragging Kylie’s appearance for her history of appropriating Black culture. As a result, a petition to get her removed from the video has garnered over 60k signatures. 

Kendall Jenner in that Pepsi Commerical 

This commercial will forever go down as one of the worst publicity stunts in the history of tv. To refresh your memory, the month was April in 2017 and Kendall Jenner ended racism by handing a can of Pepsi to a police officer. Well, that’s what Pepsi wanted you to think.

The ad received so much negative press that Pepsi had to immediately pull it and they still suffered from heaps of backlash. When Kendall finally addressed the incident on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she said: “Obviously, if I knew that this was gonna be the outcome, I would have never done something like this.”

Kim Kardashian in ‘Bound 2’

‘Bound 2’ is one of the more popular singles off of Yeezus, but when the video came out, boy was there controversy.

To refresh your memory, ‘Bound 2’ boasted a music video with Kanye West riding a motorcycle with Kim Kardashian straddling him and yeah, basically it was very edgy at the time. The video also dropped on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and let’s just say people weren’t exactly happy that it aired during the day-time.

Kendall Jenner in ‘Freaky Friday’

For this cameo, we’re talking about the time that Kendall Jenner was joined by other famous celebs (like Ed Sheeran and DJ Khaled) when the Kardashian family member appeared in Lil Dicky’s video for ‘Freaky Friday.’ The controversy came when the fans noticed that the video pedestals controversial musician, Chris Brown, and portrays him in a positive light. 

Kim Kardashian in ‘Thnks fr th Mmrs’

Okay, so this one didn’t really cause that much controversy (we mean, how could it, the music video came out in a pre-YouTube world) but this video did cause a bit of a ruckus because Kim Kardashian got to kiss Pete Wentz in his literal prime. Ah, the fomo we had for Kim Kardashian because of this tiny cameo.
