4 Scary 'Home Alone' Moments 'American Horror Story' Should Take Inspo From

Macauley Culkin has joined the AHS cast.

It’s an exciting day for American Horror Story fans with the news that the upcoming season will see the return of Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, and the addition of Home Alone star Macauley Culkin.

AHS creator Ryan Murphy took to Instagram to share the exciting news with a gloomy credit roll of the season 10 cast, including Culkin, Peters and Paulson.

The post attracted hundreds of thousands of likes and even a handful of excited comments from the likes of Matt Bomer, Tommy Dorfman, Marc Jacobs, Matthew Morrison.

Culkin responded to the fan frenzy by hilariously tweeting, “I just woke up and saw I was trending. Can someone explain what’s going on? Did I die again??”

Casting Macauley Culkin in season 10 of American Horror Story isn’t only an exciting moment for fans, it’s also the perfect opportunity to get some spooky inspo from his breakout role in Home Alone. Yes – Home Alone was actually super gruesom and scary, here’s proof:

Skeleton Electrocution

In Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, thief Marv gets electrocuted so badly that you see his skeleton. At the time, we laughed, but that is stuff out of serious Horror Stories.

Heads On Fire

In one scene of the OG Home Alone, Joe Pesci’s character gets his head blow torched by a booby trap set up by Culkin’s character Kevin McCallister. Not only would that be incredibly painful, but it’s a pretty dark way of stitching someone up when you think about it.

Watch Where You Step

In a part of the movie, Marv gets a nail stuck through his foot and in another, he steps on a glass bauble. Seeing people get impaled by a sharp object is enough to make anyone’s spine tingle, and it’s a staple in some of American Horror Story’s most gruesome scenes.

Arachnophobia

How could we possibly forget the time Kevin manages to escape Marv’s grip by planting a huge tarantula on his face? Terrifying. American Horror Story has an affinity for spiders on faces (and in mouths), as seen in the teaser for season 6 of the show.

There you have it – clearly Macauley Culkin is the perfect addition to American Horror Story and we can’t wait to see him bring Kevin McCallister back for more terrifying fun.
