Serious question: where would we be without emojis? Whether you’re happy, sad, hot under the collar, or feeling hellish, there is a little icon to portray your mood.
Well, emojis are about get even ~spicier~ with the Emoji Mashup Bot, the brainchild of Twitter user @louanben AKA Louan Bengmah. This absolute genius has taken two emojis and combined them to birth a whole bunch of brand new icons, and suddenly, I’m exploring emotions I never knew I had.
I’m already deeply obsessed with the alien cowboy emoji, which gives off major Area 51/Lil Nas X vibes, and the angry yet in love emoji, which is serving me a ‘problematic stalker’ look.
Each hour, Emoji Mashup Bot is releasing a new Franken-emoji and it’s safe to say, Twitter is LIVING for it.
Bengmah, who now has over 110K followers on Twitter, told Digg he made the Emoji Mashup Bot after following “some really great tutorials.” As you do.
This year, we’re set to be #blessed with a bunch of new (and inclusive) official emojis, including symbols for deaf people, blind people, people in wheelchairs, and those with prosthetic limbs. There will also be the option to select the race and gender of both people when selecting the couple emoji.
Sadly, the emoji mashups aren’t available to send in texts or captions yet, but I’m hopeful that the emoji overlords will soon take notice and add them to the existing repertoire.
