Whoever Said Pink And Red Should Never Be Worn Together Must Hate The Emmys Red Carpet

Well, this is awkward.

ICYMI, the 2019 Emmy Awards are in full swing and the purple carpet has been crawling with all our small screen heroes.

While it’s all smiles and flashing bulbs on the carpet, away from the glitz and glamour there are a group of celebrity stylists who must be quaking in their boots right now.

Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR a-listers rocked up wearing pink and red dresses. Mandy Moore, Marisa Tomei, Taraji P. Henson and Susan Kelechi Watson all wore the two-tone dresses – albeit in different styles – but still very similar.

Interestingly, wearing pink and red together was once considered a serious fashion faux-pas. It’s an old school fashion rule that has quite clearly been thrown out the window for this year’s awards season.

Susan Kelechi Watson quickly squashed rumours the matching colour combo was a huge conspiracy theory or a b*tch stole my look moment by posing with fellow pink-and-red enthusiast, Mandy Moore. When they were photographed together, Watson said, “always happy to be here and twinning with my girl.”

It’s an awkward moment when you and your mate rock up in the same outfit, but this is on a whole new level. Luckily, these starlets are not alone – celebs have been stealing each other’s looks on the red carpet for years.

In 2017, french model Thylane Blondeau and Russian actress Svetlana Ustinova turned up to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet wearing identical Dior dresses. The same year, Ruth Negga, Ginnifer Goodwin and Olivia Munn all wore lookalike red lace gowns to the Oscars and Oscars after parties.

As for the question of “who wore it better?” at this year’s Emmys it’s quite clear there is no competition and all of these ladies look utterly divine.
