Emma González Threw Shade At Kanye West On Twitter, Continues To Be Everyone’s Hero

Yeezy gave the student activist a shout-out on Twitter and she couldn’t be less impressed. Good for her.

Hands up who doesn’t want to be associated with one of Kanye’s very public and problematic Twitter rants?

Queue all of us.

It’s no secret that Kanye West’s Twitter account has been reactivated. He’s already got more than 20 million followers.

Since he’s logged back on, his posts have been a never-ending WTF stream of consciousness that reflects a very intense individual with a flare for the controversial and dramatic.

Are we really surprised? Well, kind of, yeah. West has gone next level.

From his pro-Trump posts to the downright amusing and bizarre, we’ve all been left to wonder what’s actually going on with Yeezy….

Is he unwell? Is he shit-stirring? Is he playing both sides so he can come off as the voice of reason? Is this all about enacting the first amendment?

I’m sure all will be revealed in time. As if Kanye doesn’t have a strategy.

But for now, West has turned his attention to Parkland school shooting survivor and activist, Emma González, referring to her as his “hero”.

Unsurprisingly, González wasn’t too happy about being associated with West and hit back at the rapper by posting her own hero-inspired tweet on her account.

Emma wasn’t the only one unimpressed with West’s original post. Most of his followers had a thing or two to say about it as well…

But the only opinion that matters here is Emma’s.

Instead of responding to West directly, she simply (and effectively) took the high road by posting a photo of her own hero – James Shaw Jr, who made international headlines last month after disarming the Waffle House shooter Nashville.

Four people died in the incident, and since then, James has raised enough money to pay for the funerals of each victim.

Kanye’s support of Trump completely opposes his claim that he’s inspired by González, making all of this just seem so disingenuous it almost borders on flat-out boring.

We’re all pretty over West’s rants, not to mention the extra dose of crazy coming from his newly found pro-Trump followers.

Well-done to Emma for not feeling obliged to thank or acknowledge West simply because he’s a celebrity that paid her a “compliment”.

It’s about time we all stop making excuses or consolations for individuals like Kanye, no matter how famous they are.
