So Eminem is coming to visit us down under in February next year for his first Aussie tour in five years. The ‘Rapture’ stadium tour is apparently set to support his latest album Kamikaze, but perhaps we can persuade old mate Eminem to play the stuff we really want to hear – the classics.
In a perfect world, Eminem would not still be using homophobic slurs in his music and he would only be playing throwback tours. But since we only have our hopes and dreams we’ve put together the setlist he should play and will have to be satisfied with just that.
#1. ‘Just Lose It’, 2004
Kick things off with a little “AH AH AH AH AH” and we’re off to a good start.
#2. ‘The Real Slim Shady’, 2000
This one is fun because we all stand up and pretend to be the real Slim Shady.
#3. ‘Cleanin’ Out My Closet’, 2002
“I said I’m sorry mammaaaaa”. Tune.
#4. ‘Mockingbird’, 2005
“HAILIE I KNOW YOU MISS YOUR MOM, AND I KNOW YOU MISS YOUR DAD”. Iconic lullaby.
#5. ‘Love The Way You Lie’, 2010
This 2010 track really only sneaks through because of Rihanna’s presence.
#6. ‘Lose Yourself’, 2002
“Mom’s spaghetti.” Obviously.
#7. ‘Smack That’, 2006
In dream world, Akon is on this tour also and this song pops off.
#8. ‘Shake That’, 2006
Featuring Nate Dogg, it feels natural that ‘Smack That’ should be followed up with ‘Shake That’. I love instructions.
#9. ‘Without Me’, 2002
“Guess who’s back?” This song is not optional.
#10. ‘When I’m Gone’, 2005
Emotional rapping with a major plot twist!!! Quality content!
#11. ‘Superman’, 2003
I don’t think this is a great example of respecting women but the song does bang.
#12. ‘My Band’, 2004
Concept: Eminem brings out the entire D12 crew for this song and everyone at the concert is very grateful.
Admittedly this is just a list of my favourite Eminem songs but all I’m saying is that old Eminem>new Eminem any day.
