If you were watching Dumplin’ on Netflix this week and wondering why the guy who played Bo looked so familiar, wonder no more. It turns out he starred in several Disney Channel Original Movies, including 2006’s How To Eat Fried Worms, 2008’s Minutemen, and 2012’s Girl Vs. Monster.
We have millennials and Gen-Z-ers with encyclopedic memories to thank for these revelations.
if you didn’t love Luke Benward at his how to eat fried worms then you don’t deserve him at his dumplin pic.twitter.com/80uRDXnHg8

Finale watching Dumplin and can I just say Luke Benward grew up so well. He went from "son who I must protect" in minutemen to Daddy material. I feel very confused rn pic.twitter.com/Lbuk4MJEO0

He also starred in Cloud 9 in 2014 with his Dumplin’ co-star, Dove Cameron.
He’s starred in several Disney Channel TV shows, too, including Good Luck Charlie…
and Girl Meets World.
So if you spent a lot of time watching the Disney Channel in the late 2000s, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Luke Benward in action before. Despite that, it’s looking like Dumplin’ is going to be his big break, the way To All The Boys was Noah Centineo’s.
2018 was Peter Kavinsky’s year, but 2019 is Bo’s.

At least until Netflix releases another teen romcom, that is.
I’m also hoping Dumplin’ ends up being Australian Danielle Macdonald’s big break, too. Since she, y’know, actually was Dumplin’. Just saying!
