Iconic Party Goon Corey Worthington Is Starring In The New Season Of Australian Ninja Warrior And It's The TV Comeback No One Asked For

A lot of people aren’t going to be happy with seeing this dude’s face again, but hey, maybe he’ll slide off a tower or smack himself into a wall.

Reboots are all the rage these days and seeing as it’s been ten whole years since we were first introduced to a then 16-year-old Corey Worthington (after he threw the ultimate house party gone wrong), it seems only fitting that he’s making a return to the small screen.

Yes, Corey is one of the big-ticket names for Season 2 of Australian Ninja Warrior, which is set to air July 8.

And who wouldn’t want to see this delightful mug again?

Worthington gained national notoriety after the massive party he threw in his parents’ absence got so out of control more than 500 people showed up and the critical response team as well as police helicopters were brought in to shut down the event.

Party-goers didn’t just trash Worthington’s parents’ house, they damaged private property throughout the street as well as a number of cop cars.

What made the whole saga that much more viewable was Worthington’s response to the media following the event – which was largely filmed before he’d even told his parents what had happened.

The cheeky bugger gave Leila McKinnon the run around during his very memorable interview on A Current Affair (where he wouldn’t take off his famed sunnies), but the whole event worked in his favour, because Worthington’s notoriety and ‘party boy’ image is still holding strong.

He’s even inspired some delightful tattoos for many of his devoted fans.

Mum and dad are surely very proud.

Ben Fordham, the co-host of Australian Ninja Warrior, made the announcement regarding Worthington’s casting this week, adding the famous Australian face approached the show, not the other way around.

“We didn’t go looking for him,” he said. He watched Ninja Warrior last year like everyone else and it turns out he’s a fit little fella these days and he wanted to have a crack.”

Fit indeed! Let’s be honest, he might have been the most annoying person in the country there for a while but even at 16, he was pretty ripped.

Kudos to Channel 9 – this is definitely one way to get viewers.

Worthington isn’t the only Aussie icon set to star on the series.

The Bachelor’s Tim Robards, NRL star Paul Gallen and Lisa Curry are all on board to give the obstacle course a solid crack.

Party on, guys.
