Constance Wu Schools Us All In Jumping To Conclusions Over A Few F-Bombs

Ill-timed tweets + bad day = Internet overreaction

With news that her show, Fresh Off The Boat, has been renewed for a sixth season, you’d think that its lead actress, Constance Wu, would be absolutely stoked about it.

Well it turns out no one is 100% sure what is going on because when the official FOTB Instagram account announced the news, the first thing she did was comment “dislike” on the post. Afterwards, she then tweeted out an F-bomb, followed by another F-bomb.

This immediately got the internet buzzing over what exactly was going on with Constance as people were a little bewildered that she would have such a negative reaction to the FOTB news.

Soon after those two tweets, assumptions were being tossed around as to what prompted Constance’s reaction. Some assumed she was sick of being on FOTB after five seasons while others guessed that she probably has her sights set on bigger things in Hollywood after starring in Crazy Rich Asians and Hustlers.

But proving that assuming makes an ass out of everyone (or however the saying goes), it turns out that she was just going through a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

In a series of follow-up tweets, Constance says her earlier F-bomb laced tweets had nothing to do with the FOTB renewal news, which was apparently an unfortunate coincidence and something she is extremely grateful for.

As for the F-bombs, well apparently that’s how she normally talks.

We will probably never get the full story as to what prompted Constance to tweet what she did or why she commented “dislike” on FOTB‘s renewal post on Instagram but we’re going to give her the benefit of the doubt because let’s face it, who hasn’t had a bad day and accidentally said or wrote something they didn’t mean.

Constance may be a rising star in Hollywood right now but she’s also just human and prone to moments of vulnerability like the rest of us.

Here’s hoping everything works out for Constance because we really enjoy seeing her work and it would be a shame if her star suddenly started falling over a few seemingly out-of-context tweets.
