The Official Word From 7-Eleven Says There’s No Limit To The Number Of Shots You Can Put In Your Damn Coffee

Don’t mean to brag, but this is investigative journalism at its best.

Sitting pretty upon many an urban corner, the humble 7-Eleven stands as a vision in red, orange and green. A ritualistic stumbling point for early risers and weary workers, 7-Eleven is more than just a convenience store. It’s a way of life, a place of belonging. A home away from home.

Walking into the store, we’re invited to whip up a Freshly Ground Coffee – ourselves! It’s the happy medium between an overpriced coffee and an instant brew at home. I’m rubbing my hands together just thinking about it.

Patiently queue, whip up your Freshly Ground Coffee, pay at the counter, enjoy. It’s a failsafe formula. Or is it.

There She Is.

As long as self-serve 7-Eleven coffee has been a thing, there’s been confusion as to exactly *what* we’re entitled to.

Coffees are conveniently priced at one dollar intervals, stretching from the modest $1 for a regular to $3 for a large.

Does the price reflect the number of espresso shots we’re allowed ($1 = one shot, $2 = two shots etc.)? Or are we entitled to fill ‘her up with as many damn shots as we choose?

And what do we make of the elusive Short Black?

Well, it turns out every blow you’ve ever copped from a disgruntled 7-11 attendant was in vain.

According to official correspondence from 7-Eleven HQ, you can fill up your cup with as many damn shots of coffee as you so please.

“The company policy is that you will be charged as per the cup size and not by what is in your cup. Therefore you are entitled to your two shots of coffee at no extra cost”.

There you have it. Straight from the horse’s mouth.
