This Year’s Coachella Line-Up Is So Good You'll Have To Pinch Me Because I Must Be Dreaming

If there was ever a year to make the trip, this is it.

Get your fezzy gear in order and clear your April calendars because the Coachella line-up just dropped and it’s epic.

The annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has a lot to top since they shook the world up with Beyoncé’s headlining performance and was re-dubbed ‘Beychella‘. But they’ve pulled together a red hot team of our faves to take the stages from April 12-14, and then again for the sequel weekend from April 19-21.

As the headliners for the 2019 Coachella festival we’ve got, of course, the one and only Ariana Grande, who has literally dominated our attention and won our devotion over the last year.

Childish Gambino will also be headlining, which is great news for all the Aussies who missed out on seeing him when he had to cancel the Australian leg of his tour.

Then we’ve also got our very own Tame Impala headlining the mega-festival. So you can see some homegrown talent from Kevin Parker and his crew, rocking the world with his psychedelic tunes.

The line-up also sports more huge acts and a diversity of artists including Solange, Kid Cudi, Janelle Monáe, the 1975, Jon Hopkins, Mac DeMarco, Diplo, Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers, Weezer, Pusha-T, SOPHIE, Aphex Twin, Gucci Gang, Sofi Tukker, Anderson .Paak, Juice WRLD, Playboi Carti, Bad Bunny, Sheck Wes, Gesaffelstein, J Balvin, and a whole lot more you can see below.

One act that no one saw coming is Idris Elba, who apparently also DJ’s on top of being a beloved man of Hollywood. Before the hype of his Coachella slot wore off, Netflix announced that Idris Elba will actually be starring as a DJ in a comedy series called Turn Up Charlie that premieres on March 15.

Coachella 2019 sufficiently calls for a trip to the US if you can swing it, because this line-up is what dreams are made of.

Pete Davidson Admits His Mum Has Been Teased With Ariana's Break Up Track Thank U, Next

He also claims that Louis CK once tried to get him fired from SNL so I guess Pete was in a tea-spilling mood.

On New Year’s Eve, Pete Davidson took the stage at two sold-out shows – his first public performance since an Instagram post a few weeks ago that signalled the comedian might be suicidal.

Never one to disappoint, Davidson shared some light-hearted material about his famous break-up with ex-fiancé Ariana Grande, which has been reported by the New York Times.

“When you get dumped,” Davidson said, pausing as the audience began to cheer. “I’ll stop if you’re going to be stupid.”

Davidson said that his mother, a school nurse, was actually being taunted by a student singing Ariana’s iconic break-up track, ‘thank u, next’. Apparently when the school’s dean was informed, the student was summoned to his office and made to sing the song for four administrators, who Davidson described as “retired cops with moustaches.”

He resolved that the entire break-up experience has,

“showed me how ugly people can get but also how cool.”

In his set Pete Davidson also took aim at the disgraced (but not disowned) comedian Louis CK.

“I got a Harry Potter tattoo. Then the next day Alan Rickman, the guy who played Snape, died. And I was like, ‘Oh, what a weird coincidence,’” Davidson said according to E!.

“Then I got a Willy Wonka tattoo. Next day – Gene Wilder dies. Now I’m like, ‘All right, that’s not a coincidence, that’s weird.’ So, I’m thinking of getting a tattoo of Louis C.K. What do you guys think?”

Davidson went on to claim that Louis CK actually tried to get him fired from Saturday Night Live by advising the producers that he smokes too much weed.

The jokes targeting Louis CK come after audio leaked from CK’s December stand-up performance where he mocked Parkland school shooting survivors and LGBTQ teens. So we’re with Pete on this one. Get the tattoo.

Fans Are Rallying For Ariana Grande To Get Back With Her Ex, And She Would Kindly Like That To Stop

C'mon guys.

I’m sure we’re all familiar with the fact that Ariana Grande once dated a man named Ricky. She wrote some songs about him, now she listens and laughs.

If you weren’t fully caught up on the fact that Ariana dated Ricky Alvarez from her backup dancer troupe back in 2015, the name-checking in ‘thank u, next’ provided a widespread sense of at least vague awareness.

But some fans seem to have missed the sentiment behind Ariana Grande’s recent onwards and upwards anthem – and they are rallying on Instagram to urge Ari to reunite with Ricky.

Basically, the excitement kicked off when Ariana commented on this photo of Ricky, saying “these colours are sick”. Just friendly stuff.

But old ships die hard for a lot of fans, and they took this comment and ran with it. Hordes of comments along the lines of “We’re ready for Rickianaaa”, and “@arianagrande we’re all waiting for rickiana 2k19” crowding the Instagram post, and a whole lot of those fans tagging Ariana specifically.

While there were also a few fans defending Ariana and her right to be friends with her ex without getting spammed, that was not enough to drown out the cries for Rickiana.

Ariana has never been one to be quiet on social media, and she reacted with all grace like a true queen.

She responded to everyone, though directly tagging one fervent fan in particular, basically telling them to chill.

“@ariandricky we’re friends everyone take a big ol breather ?”

It’s actually a very awesome thing that Ariana (or anyone) can have a healthy friendship with someone they used to have a romantic relationship with, so let’s leave her to enjoy that in peace.
