Cher's Cover Of ABBA's One Of Us Is Here And It Made More Than One Of Us Cry

Not to be too controversial, but it's better than the original, IMO.

Cher released her cover of ABBA’s ‘One Of Us’ over the weekend, and it’s perfect if you want to start your week off with a good cry.

It’s the third song she’s released off her upcoming album of ABBA covers, Dancing Queen, ahead of its release on September 28th.

It follows on the heels of the release of her video for ‘SOS’ last week.

‘One Of Us’ is from ABBA’s final album, The Visitors, and was written as Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus were both dealing with divorces. This is evident in ABBA’s video for the song, which shows Agnetha Fältskog unpacking her new apartment.

It was used in Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again as Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) and Sky (Dominic Cooper) were trying to manage the ups and downs of a long-distance relationship.

Dancing Queen comes out on September 28th, and will contain ten ABBA covers:

  1. Dancing Queen
  2. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
  3. The Name Of The Game
  4. SOS
  5. Waterloo
  6. Mamma Mia
  7. Chiquitita
  8. Fernando
  9. The Winner Takes It All
  10. One Of Us

Cher is currently touring New Zealand, will be in Australia when the album comes out, performing her first show in 13 years (besides Sydney’s Mardi Gras earlier this year) in Newcastle on Wednesday. She’ll also be visiting Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth, and you can get tickets here.
