Extremely awesome news for lovers of the iconic music of ABBA and the musical icon Cher – it turns out Cher has actually recorded an entire album of ABBA covers.
Her glorious rendition of ‘Fernando’ was released recently as part of the Mama Mia: Here We Go Again soundtrack, and in an interview with Kathie Lee Gifford the legendary singer revealed that there’s a whole lot more songs to back it up.
“After I did ‘Fernando,’ I thought it would really be fun to do an album of ABBA songs, so I did!” Cher said. “It’s not what you think of when you think ABBA, ’cause I did it in a different way.”
If her other covers are anything like her take on ‘Fernando’ with Andy Garcia, then S.O.S. because we’re going to need this ASAP.
